The management teams at Bethesda Barclay House and Bethesda Orchard subjected themselves to a whipped cream bath to help raise money for the Hearts for Our Homes Campaign, an annual Bethesda fundraiser for residents who are in need of financial help.
Creative Ways to Collect Funds
Employees and residents at all of our Bethesda communities come up with creative ways to collect funds, including:
- Kissing a Cow,
- A Classic Car Show
- Trivia Night
- Stepping up to receive a pie in the face
The assembled groups really seemed to enjoy themselves and our donor/throwers got into it with unusual vigor this year! At Bethesda Barclay House, the event was held outside on the pool deck, which made the mess easy to clean up. But at Bethesda Orchard, the venue was the main lobby just inside the front door so that any unsuspecting visitor might have thought they were walking in on a lecture or “normal” event until, of course, the pies started flying fast and furious.
Everything Goes to a Worthy Cause
Bethesda’s Humanitarian Care Program raised more than $95,000 this year to make sure every Bethesda resident can stay in their home in spite of their inability to pay. Who knows what unusual ideas will take center stage next year. One thing’s for sure: it will definitely be a fun raiser as well as a fundraiser!
