The Bethesda Health Group Foundation received a renewal grant of $45,000 from Marillac Mission Fund for our Home Health Gap Assistance Program.
Marillac Mission Fund former Daughters of Charity Foundation of St. Louis granted Bethesda funds to award scholarship funds to Gap Assistance Fund in 2019, and again in 2020. Led by Deni O’Malley, St. Andrews & Bethesda Home Health department explains that we frequently care for seniors who face significant barriers when they return home from the hospital and post-acute care facilities. “With many seniors falling into the weakening safety net for social services, they often cannot wait for the time it takes for resources to “kick in” and provide assistance. By providing scholarships to cover the costs of these immediate needs, a Home Health Gap Assistance program will greatly ease the stress of a transition to home and prevent costly readmissions,” says Deni O’Malley, Director Home Health and Hospice. “We are grateful to the Marillac Mission Fund for their continued confidence in us to administer these critical funds.”
