Making a Difference Beyond Your Lifetime

The John W. Rowe Heritage Society honors individuals who have generously included Bethesda Health Group in their estate plans. These planned gifts often provide meaningful financial and tax benefits while supporting an individual’s broader estate-planning goals.

Most importantly, these extraordinary commitments help ensure that Bethesda can continue to serve seniors as they age with respect, dignity, and compassion.

Including Bethesda in your estate plans demonstrates your lasting commitment to strengthening the future of senior healthcare. Many donors find that this deeply meaningful form of giving allows them to make an even greater impact than they ever imagined.

Your generous philanthropic legacy not only supports Bethesda’s long-term mission but also inspires others to follow your example and helps us plan confidently for the future.

A Legacy of Leadership and Service

The John W. Rowe Society recognizes John Rowe’s exceptional leadership that has shaped Bethesda Health Group for more than 39 years. He has served as President and CEO, Chairman of the Board several times, and served on many executive committees. In 1998, when the Board elected John as Chief Executive Officer for Bethesda, he was challenged to prepare the organization for a rapidly changing healthcare environment. Over the next 12 years, he and the management team he assembled met that challenge, leaving Bethesda with a strong platform from which to grow and prosper.

Through his vision, integrity, and resilience, John guided Bethesda’s growth from seven communities to ten and expanded the organization’s mission to include vital services such as Medicare Rehab & Therapy, Assisted Living, Home Health, Private Duty Assistance, and Hospice Care.

A man of deep faith and a trusted community leader, John has always lived by the values of service and generosity. His commitment to giving back inspired him to include Bethesda in his estate plan — an enduring expression of his dedication to our mission and to the seniors who depend on us.

"I will always be grateful to Bethesda for the loving care they gave my mother during the last seven years of her life. She was treated with kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion every day. I placed Bethesda in my estate plan so that other families may experience the same comfort and confidence we did."
